Belleek has a long history and started as a philanthropic enterprise, a business set up by John Caldwell Bloomfield who wished to improve the lives of his tenants and to provide employment to those tenants in the aftermath of the Famine circa 1849. Belleek Pottery is a working factory in Northern Ireland that uses traditional methods gifted by their ancestors.
This means that every piece of Belleek with this trademark has been passed through the special 16 hands process. It is significant to Belleek Pottery as every new owner of Belleek Pieces made from January 2019 has been fully made in their factory in Co Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.
